T-Mobile Goes Home, Edwards Startled By Skype

Those of you who follow this closely (which I'm guessing is most of you; otherwise, what are you doing on this site?) have heard about T-Mobile USA Inc.'s push to offer wireless VoIP at home. The service is almost here; on July 2, you'll be able to use a wireless handset at home to make VoIP calls. It'll cost $10 per month, which is about half of the price of your run-of-the-mill VoIP vendor or cable company. As one analyst noted, $10 per month is pretty much free. The catch: You need to be a T-Mobile cell customer. The lesson: When it comes to pricing, the tech market is an inevitable race to the bottom. Read more about T-Mobile's new service here.
